SINEU
A Sineu se celebra cada dimecres un mercat instaurat en 1306 pel rei Jaume II, i és històricament un dels més importants que es fan a Mallorca. Sineu i altres pobles de la comarca s'han dedicat tradicionalment a l'agricultura i a la ramaderia, i aquest mercat es convertí en el principal punt de trobada comercial dels pagesos de l'illa, per comprar i vendre animals i productes. Les parades s'instal·len a la plaça de l'església, la plaça del Fossar –on segles enrera s'hi enterrava als morts— i els carrers circumdants. Un mercat que s'ha convertit en un atractiu turístic, i que permet degustar, de passada, alguna delícia autòctona, com ara un bon plat de frit acompanyat d'un got de vi, en els bars del poble.
In Sineu a market that got started in 1306 by King James II is still held every Wednesday; historically it is one of the most important markets held on Mallorca. Sineu and other towns in the county have traditionally worked in agriculture and livestock, and this market became the main commercial clearinghouse among the farmers on the island where they could buy and sell animals and products. The stalls are set up in the Plaza del Fossar square in front of the church – where years ago the dead were buried – and the surrounding streets. This market has become a tourist attraction, and while there you can savour local treats like a good dish of frit accompanied by a glass of wine in the village bars.
In Sineu wird jeden Mittwoch ein Markt abgehalten, der 1306 von König Jaime II. ins Leben gerufen wurde; er ist historisch gesehen einer wichtigsten Märkte, die auf Mallorca stattfinden. Sineu und andere Dörfer im Landkreis widmeten sich von jeher der Landwirtschaft und der Viehzucht, und dieser Markt entwickelte sich zum wichtigsten Treffpunkt für die Bauern der Insel, um Tiere und Erzeugnisse zu kaufen und zu verkaufen. Die Stände werden auf dem Kirchplatz Plaza del Fossar – wo man vor Jahrhunderten die Toten begrub – und in den umliegenden Straßen aufgebaut. Dieser Markt ist zu einer touristischen Sehenswürdigkeit geworden; nebenbei kann man in den Dorfschenken unter anderem verschiedene einheimische Leckereien probieren, so zum Beispiel einen leckeren Teller frit (gebratenes Fleisch oder Fisch) begleitet von einem Gläschen Wein.
